The Museum
Maritime

A jewel in the maritime history of Mont

The Musée Maritime du Mont Saint-Michel is an essential key to understanding the changing soul of the Bay of Mont Saint-Michel. This educational and sensory centre presents the tides, the shifting sands, the species that inhabit this very special environment and the way in which mankind has learned to adapt to it. Models, experiments and activities bring the visit to life and make it accessible to all. The Maritime Museum is a reminder that the Mont is not just a mountain of stone, but a living, moving ecosystem, powerfully linked to the ocean. It's also a wonderful tool for teaching people about the beauty and fragility of this natural heritage. It's a useful, fun and essential experience for young and old alike, to fully appreciate the living dimension of this place.
